MARCH 3rd FRIDAY

Tutorial with Pauline made me realise that I have
to make some tough decisions. First of all, I have
to focus my research and my aims for the project.
I feel that even though I know what I am doing, it
was missing the whole concept description.
I was a little bit frustrated, because I feel that
I am working all the time but there are no significant
results yet.
I had to make it clearer and obvious to someone who
doesn't know anything about this project.
I spend 2 hours on phone with my dad / the biggest
critique / and he was asking me questions about this
project in sense of problem solving, aims, approaches etc.
I came into conclusion that I was missing the
' finish line' . I had al the thoughts very unorganised
and this self reflective talk helped me to not only
learn how to present the ideas clearly but also focus
on only relevant thought/solutions.
Fixing my Proposal again.... hoping it is getting better.,..

MARCH 2nd THURSDAY

- sketchbook work
- draft Proposal correction
- I have had an idea to contact
LMB group/ company that collects
unwanted clothes and ship them to 3rd
world countries or Africa/ in purpose
to get more primary research imagery and
possible sponsorship  / collaboration?

MARCH 1st WEDNESDAY

-exhibition day: DESIGN MUSEUM/
Fear and Love EXHIBITION

-themes: networked sexuality, sentient robots,
slow fashion and settled nomads.
The exhibition asserts that design is deeply
connected not just to commerce and culture but
to urgent underlying issues – issues that
inspire fear and love.

- WHITE CUBE - Ibrahim MAHANA
the large draping surfaces by carefully assembling
sacks imported by the Ghana Cocoa Board and repur-
posed by charcoal sellers. The sacks present patches,
markings and traces of traders’ names and locations
on their rough brown skin, which map out the many
transits they endure as vessels of commodities.
The artist occasionally decorates them with the
insertion of mass-produced Chinese–African print
patchwork adding yet another layer of interpreta-
tion of the global movement of goods. The fact
that fabric constitutes a marker of identity as
well as a sign of particular occasions in the
African context turns these insertions into a
kind of portraiture of the wearers.

FEBRUARY 25th SATURDAY

Starting my Project Proposal Draft. Went
quiet well,, finished The First and
The Last section , now I am only missing
The middle part which is detailed description
of Project Concept and my aims- going to do
that tomorrow.

I also went to print out some of my research
images, I am going to start collage tomorrow.
I came in to the conclusion that I need to
get advice from someone at CSM. I am not quiet
sure if I am heading the right direction.

FEBRUARY 22nd WEDNESDAY

RESEARCH WEEK DAY 3:
Today was quiet unfortunate, because
there was no internet access at CSM.
That made my day in the library quiet
difficult .
Based on my research from yesterday, I wanted
to find more artist that were interested in
relation between mankind and nature. I was
researching the exhibition
New Topographics: Photographs of a Man-Altered
Landscape, held in 1975 at the International
Museum of Photography, couldn't find enough
information. The book was also issued,so I have
decided to look at the artists that are mentioned
in there separately. Later on , I started to
write the bibliography and I updated my
research. I think I have to get some more of
primary research and to go to see some
exhibitions over the weekend. Also, I feel that
I should get some print  outs/ if the printers
are going to work/ and to start to do some
collages and samples.

Highlights, ideas based on researched photographers :

STEVEN SHORE - capturing seaside, construction for
the safeguarding of Venice and its lagoon

STUART WHIPPS- disappearing art and vanishing
architecture

BERNDT AND HILLA BECHER - gas tanks, water towers,
loving the rough construction

LEWIS BALTZ - very minimalistic, monochrome,
tactile, reminding me of the modernist architecture a lot

FEBRUARY 21st TUESDAY

TOSHIO SHIBATA
WOLFGANG TILLMANS
TAEWON JANG

 NOTE :

-  not able to fully follow my plan due to URGENT Request from Kelly Rowland's stylist.

Luckily, due to this last minute request and no possibility of making everything done on time, I will be able to bring in work on Tue morning

MARCH 4th SATURDAY

- helping  MATTHEW  N. with his BA final
project. Overall, I feel that this collabo-
ration is going to be very beneficial to all
parties.
His project is about Sustainability as well,
however, he is approaching the project from
a little different direction. I think it is
great to have this opportunity to work with
someone who can give me direct feedback.
Today I have learnt how to copy patterns out
of already made clothes....Can' t believe that
I was always doing everything from flat drawings
to 3D. I believe that this new learnt technique
is willing to help me with my UNIT 7 Project.
Also, I have a plan to help Matthew with the shoes
and accessories for the final collection. I have
no clue what is the process of making shoes , so
that is great skills to learn as well.
Later on in the evening, trying to work in sketchbook...
Why am I suddently sooo slow? I don't get it really....

sculpture made from  the waste /packaging/
produced in 2hours of class, manipulation,
observation, scanning the objects
- I was advised to look at the other affects
of donating clothes
/ polluting air, who are the clothes going to ? /
- Have to find a muse ,,, who is the person that
is wearing the clothes

- started with my survey - DO YOU HAVE ANY CLOTHES
IN YOUR CLOSET THAT YOU DO NOT WEAR? WHY?
- after having the conversation with Constantinos
and YAsh, I have decided to look more into
techniques of fixing the clothes:
etc patches, specific stitches, how to fix nylons...

FEBRUARY 20th MONDAY

RESEARCH WEEK DAY 1:
- looking at recycling
- waste
- sustainable fashion and design

In the morning, I can't find anything
super specific that would give me a
clear idea what am I doing. I gathered
many practical informations but I am
missing visual references. Luckily, I
found a book called GREEN DESIGN-FASHION,
and BIO ART- altered realities. Found
some references about the artists that
are working eco friendly or trying to
raise social awareness about the
global environmental situation .
